Kraft Foods 'Healthy Lunch Program'
01 Mar, 2012
Continuing from 2011, Kraft Foods has renewed the Healthy Lunch Program for the students of Deaf Reach School Sukkur for the year 2012. The program provides daily, healthy lunches to more than 160 children from the ages of 4 – 15. These children all come from low-income backgrounds and their families live in the outlying areas of Sukkur, and are unable to provide lunches for them. Thanks to Kraft Foods, the children are now provided healthy meals prepared by the well-trained kitchen staff of Deaf Reach.
The kitchen staff in Sukkur comprises three deaf cooks who attended Deaf Reach’s Culinary Arts vocational training program, and also received further training in cooking and kitchen management from an expert chef. They have now taken responsibility for planning and preparing a variety of dishes which they know the children will enjoy.
